Music to Change Your World!
W
hile doing research in the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) and in the Tenach (the rest of the Old Testament), we came across this scripture:"And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from Elohim was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him." (I Samuel 16:23)
When you evaluate this scripture, it is interesting to note that the evil spirit sent to torment King Saul came from Elohim (likely one of the sons of Yahweh, but not Yahweh Himself). A study of the book of I Samuel will show you that Elohim sent that evil spirit to torment King Saul because of his multiple acts of disobedience against Yahweh, the creator of the universe.
We noticed that when David played the Torah on his Harp, it created a spiritual environment that this evil spirit could not stand to be in. When we researched the work of the Jewish sages, we found that many of them believed that David was playing the Torah in a musical format. The was further proved out in a completely different of circumstances. When Yahoshua (Jesus) was tempted in the wilderness, He withstood the temptations of the devil by quoting scripture, namely the Torah (Law) to render the devil's temptations useless. Even when the devil quoted scripture, he elected to quote Psalms and not the Torah. Why did he do that when he could have been more effective with the Torah? Clearly, the devil and his army of evil cannot abide the Torah.
When we started playing the Torah in various situations, we found it powerful to change things when everything else had failed. To learn more about what we discovered, click the button below and go to the next page.
