The Attack on the Bible!
The Word of God is IMPORTANT! Its value cannot be underestimated. Read these scriptures and see for yourself:
- Matthew 24:35 reads, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my WORDS shall not pass away."
- Psalms 138:2 says, ". . . for thou hast magnified thy WORD above all thy name."
- Psalms 119:89 says, "For ever, O LORD, thy WORD is settled in heaven."
The spiritual life-blood of the human race is the Word of God!
- It brings salvation: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God. . ." (1 Peter 1:23)
- It produces faith: ". . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).
- It produces spiritual growth: ". . .desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2)
Jesus Christ said in John 6:63, ". . .the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are LIFE."
The first time Satan attacked the human race, he did so by attacking the validity of the Word God spoken to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden! Read this scripture carefully.
"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, Hath God Said?" (Genesis 3:1)
Satan planted a seed of doubt into the mind of Eve. The serpent got Eve to question and then doubt what God had told her. Once he was able to get Eve to doubt God's Word, Satan could then start the process of replacing God's Word with Satan's Word.
Let's review Luke 8 where Jesus Christ tells us the Parable of the Sower. Reviewing verses 11 and 12 you read,
"Now the parable is this: The SEED is the word of God. . . THEN COMETH THE DEVIL, and taketh away the word. . ."
Satan knows - if he can supplant even a small seed of doubt in God's Word - MANKIND WILL LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!
Once Satan has gotten mankind to doubt the Word of God, he will be free to offer man one of his many substitutes. In our "modern times," we have seen a major increase in the accuracy and viability of the Bible. Nothing has flamed the fire of confusion and doubt more than the multiple Bible translations now flooding the marketplace. Time Magazine (April 20, 1981 p.62) reports,
". . . there is an UNPRECEDENTED CONFUSION of choices in Bibles. Never have so many major new translations been on the market."
- Since 1880, over 200 different translations have appeared.
- Every six months a new English version appears!
No Wonder People are Confused
The question has to be asked - is God the author of this flood of new versions? Is God the author of CONFUSION in His word? 1 Corinthians 14:33, clearly states, "God is NOT the author of CONFUSION."
BUT SATAN IS! He knows, if he can plant the smallest seed of doubt and confusion - that individual will not take God's Word serious!
God promised to preserve His word . . .
God promised in Psalms 12:7 that He would preserve His word, "Thou shalt KEEP them, O LORD, thou shalt PRESERVE them from this generation FOR EVER."
God keeps His promise! The King James Bible is the preserved word of God. The new versions are clearly satanic counterfeits designed to cast doubt, cause confusion and literally attack every concept and idea about the person and work of Jesus Christ!
In the next section, we will start learning about the changes the "modern translators" have made to undermine the faith of every Christian and made them susceptible to every crazy teaching around. Even worse, you will see how these new versions reduce the believer in Christ to just another believer in a world religion.
